Governor Çiçek: “We are proud to reach the 37th sports school in a period of 1.5 years.”

The opening of the Incesu OSB ERVA Sports School, built for the Incesu district by the Incesu Organized Industrial Zone Directorate, was held within the framework of the ERVA Sports Schools project operated by the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate.

In addition to Governor Gökmen Çiçek, the opening was attended by Brigade General Haldun Taşan, Commander of the Garrison, Air Force Brigadier General Hasan Volkan Güleryüz, Commander of the 12th Air Transport Main Base, Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun, Rector of Erciyes University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Fazıl Özsoylu, Rector of Nuh Naci Yazgan University, Deputy Governors Abdullah Kalkan, Adnan Türkdamar, Ömer Tekeş, district governors, Provincial Police Chief Atanur Aydın, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Hakan Dedebağı, representatives of public institutions and organizations, representatives of civil society organizations, and citizens. In his speech at the opening, Governor Çiçek stated: “We are fighting a great battle together as Kayseri. As the children of a great civilization that has brought justice, law, and order to the world, we are fighting to keep our youth away from all troubles, as the hope of the world’s oppressed. We are waging this battle together. The governorship, the metropolitan municipality, our district municipalities, our institutions, our NGOs, we are all struggling together. We want no individual or youth from this country to perish in a quagmire. We do not want them to fall into depression and destroy themselves, nor do we want their families to suffer. In this war, our enemy is the poison dealers who poison our youth. In this battle, our enemies are the scoundrels, traitors, and terrorist organizations that want to drag our youth into the quagmire. We will not sacrifice any of our youth. If necessary, we will work 24 hours a day and fight. But we will not leave any of our youth in despair and hopelessness,” he said.

Governor Çiçek expressed that the gendarmerie and the police are fighting all night long to prevent children from being poisoned: “Our gendarmerie and police are conducting operations. There is a huge army of scoundrels trying to drag our youth into the quagmire on social media. Just as our security forces are fighting against them, we will fight together. The responsibility for our youth is not only with the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, nor is it only with the Metropolitan Municipality, Melikgazi, Kocasinan, and Incesu municipalities. We all need to do something. That’s why I attach great importance to ERVA Sports Schools. Today, we are opening the 37th Sports School on this path we have taken to open a sports school in every neighborhood. We are proud to reach the 37th Sports School in about 1.5 years. Today, we have reached 9 thousand licensed athletes. Our athletes have started to bring medals,” he stated. Continuing his speech, Governor Çiçek addressed the children present: “Dear Children! Your place is in sports halls, science schools, and art schools. We want you to take care of these places. You are the future of this nation. You will not fall; you will stand tall.”

After the speeches, the opening of the Incesu OSB ERVA Sports School was conducted by Governor Gökmen Çiçek and protocol members.
