Beşiktaş Municipality is launching the ‘Disabled Equipment Repair Service’ project. This is one of the ‘Living Beşiktaş’ projects that Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat promised before the March 31 Local Government Elections.
“We are making a great effort to ensure that every citizen receives equal service”
In statements regarding the project, Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat said, “Dear Neighbors, Today, as Beşiktaş Municipality, I am very proud and happy to introduce the Disabled Equipment Repair Service Project, which is a concrete example of our principle of solidarity and social municipalism. Since the day we took office, we have been making great efforts to ensure that every citizen receives equal service and can fully participate in every aspect of life. We want to alleviate the difficulties faced by our disabled citizens and enable them to participate more actively in social life. This vision is at the center of our understanding of municipalism, which we have promised by saying, ‘Barrier-Free Living Beşiktaş.'”
“It will be an important step towards building Beşiktaş”
In his statements, President Akpolat also touched upon the details of the ‘Disabled Equipment Repair Service Project’, stating, “With this project, our teams will go to the locations of our neighbors based on the requests received at our solution center, carry out fault detection, and, if possible, perform the repair on-site. If wheelchairs cannot be repaired on-site, they will be taken by our barrier-free support vehicle, brought to our workshops, and repaired as soon as possible before being returned to their owners. Our disabled equipment repair service will not only facilitate the lives of disabled individuals but will also create awareness in society and will be an important step towards building a Beşiktaş where everyone has equal rights. We are here to eliminate all barriers and create an accessible Beşiktaş for everyone.”
