On the third day of the third International Esenyurt Folk Dances, Music and Arts Festival held in Esenyurt this year, the Anadolu Ateşi dance group took the stage. Anadolu Ateşi, which swept across the stage like a storm, provided enjoyable moments for the people of Esenyurt.
The festival, organized for the third time this year by the Esenyurt Municipality, continued with concerts and performances on its third day as well. The festival, which saw participation from 500 musicians, dancers, and artisans from 35 countries, featured dance performances from guest groups followed by the Anadolu Ateşi dance group. The choreography prepared by the dance team specifically for the event at the Esenkent Rıfat Ilgaz Open-Air Theater received great applause from the participants.
Esenyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer, who watched the performances with great interest, presented a handwoven silk carpet produced by the municipality’s trainees as a souvenir to the General Art Director of the group, Mustafa Erdoğan, and gave flowers to the dancers. Mayor Özer also offered aşure to the citizens who participated in the festival due to the month of Muharram.
“As we promised, we will make Esenyurt the capital of culture and art”
In his speech at the festival, Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer stated, “Today is the third day of our Esenyurt International Folk Dances, Music and Arts Festival. It will continue tomorrow as well. Today, we are hosting 500 guests from 35 countries. They are showcasing various folk dances and music. Soon, Anadolu Ateşi will perform. Anadolu Ateşi, which represents the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, will give its first performance in Esenyurt. I would like to thank my dear friend Mustafa Erdoğan for presenting this show to us. Our main goal here is to fulfill our motto of making Esenyurt the capital of culture and art. So far, hundreds of performances have been held over three days. These have been showcased in various places in Esenyurt. On the first day, Kardeş Türküler treated us to a musical feast here. Yesterday it was Manuş Baba. Today you see the dances and Anadolu Ateşi. Tomorrow we will continue with another artist. As we promised, we will make Esenyurt the capital of culture and art. After this festival, we will hold the Peace and Brotherhood Festival. After that, we will have the Literature Festival. Then we will have the Women’s Labor Evaluation Festival. Thus, we will collectively turn Esenyurt into a city worthy of the 21st century. As you can see, the people of Esenyurt are happy. We become happy when we make our loved ones happy, and the people of Esenyurt are happy together. We say, ‘We are happy because we are from Esenyurt.’ So far, the interest has been very intense. Not all festival activities are here. We are going to the public in Cumhuriyet Square and various neighborhoods.”
