The Malaklı dog of Aksaray, known as the Anatolian Lion due to its large physique, exceeds human height. This dog, a friend of shepherds across the country, is being sent from Aksaray, where it is bred, to all corners of Turkey.

Naim Dağlı, who breeds Malaklı dogs in the village of Böğet in the Eskil district of Aksaray, raises 130 puppies each year. With 25 breeding dogs on his farm, Dağlı sends Aksaray Malaklı dogs all over Turkey. The Aksaray Malaklı, renowned as the Anatolian Lion, surpasses human height when it stands on its two hind legs. Having been around dogs since childhood, Dağlı turned this passion into a business.

Naim Dağlı emphasizes that every household should have an Aksaray Malaklı, stating, “I established a farm to raise and sell Aksaray Malaklı dogs. Every home needs a Malaklı because it is a loyal, strong, and wolf-like animal. The pride of Aksaray, the Anatolian Lion Malaklı, has a very ancient breed. It is a breed particularly preferred by shepherds. It is larger and stronger than the Kangal. Every job should be done with love. I also do this job with love because I love dogs, and I sell them according to demand. We receive requests from all over the country, especially from Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. Sometimes there are even requests from abroad. We try to keep up with these demands. I raise an average of 130 puppies per year. I sell the younger ones for 8-10 thousand lira, the 5-6 month-olds for 20 to 30 thousand lira, the 10-month-olds for 60-70 thousand lira, and the adults for between 100-120 thousand lira.”
