It is believed that the bridge, made of cut stone and rubble stone, was constructed during the Mengücekler period and is located on the Silk Road route. The historical bridge, which is 70 meters long and had restoration works begin in 2020, is expected to welcome its visitors once the restoration is completed. Expert Art Historian Yunus Budaktaş stated that Divriği houses significant historical and cultural artifacts, saying, “Divriği is one of the most important districts of Sivas. Although it is highlighted by the Divriği Great Mosque and Darüşşifa, it also holds great importance with its numerous examples of civil architecture, tomb structures, and water works. One of them is the Kız Bridge. While the exact history of the Kız Bridge is unknown, it can be dated to approximately the 13th century when the materials and construction techniques are examined. The Kız Bridge is a historical bridge made of cut stone and is 70 meters long. The bridge consists of three pointed arches with different spans and has survived to this day with a history of about 800 years,” he said.

The restoration works have been successfully completed, revealing the historical bridge. The Kız Bridge has significant importance due to its location.
