Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç participated in the traditional Summer Science Camp program of the Kayseri Science Center and met with children who spent a science-filled summer in 10 different workshops.
The Kayseri Science Center, under the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, continues to carry out rich content activities and works on various topics that attract the interest of all citizens, especially children who are curious about science. The Science Center, which instills a love for science in new generations, has entered the 2024 summer period with a wealth of content for its traditional Summer Science Camp aimed at students.
The Summer Science Camp, planned in 4 sessions, held the 1st Session from July 9-12 and the 2nd Session from July 16-19. Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç met with the children who completed the 2nd session of the camp. While meeting the children in a warm and friendly environment, the kids explained that they received important education in robotic coding, model aircraft, Lego, painting, and telescopes.
Stating that the Kayseri Science Center is one of the 6 TÜBİTAK-supported science centers in Turkey, Büyükkılıç said, “This very important center should be valued, and it is essential to care about, take interest in, and learn from it.”
Mayor Büyükkılıç distributed participation certificates to the 200 students who benefited from the Science Camp with 10 different workshops, and said, “Congratulations, I wish you continued success in contributing to our science center.”
During Büyükkılıç’s visit to the Kayseri Science Center, he was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Hamdi Elcuman and the Director of Smart Urbanism and Information Processing Department Abdullah Avan.
The 3rd Session of the Kayseri Science Center Summer Science Camp will be held from July 23-26, and the 4th Session will take place from July 30 to August 2.
