Aşure was served to a thousand people by the Erzincan Provincial Special Administration.

Due to the month of Muharram, aşure was served by the Erzincan Provincial Special Administration. The aşure serving event held in the Republic Square was attended by Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, Mayor Bekir Aksun, Chief Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali Öztürk, EBYÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Akın Levent, Deputy Governors Mehmet Emre Canpolat, Yusuf İzci, representatives of political parties, representatives of NGOs, and citizens.

Citizens showed great interest in the aşure serving program conducted with the participation of Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu and the city protocol at the stands set up in the Republic Square.

After the aşure serving, Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, who made a speech, pointed out that Erzincan is a city of brotherhood, stating: “We distribute aşure at the end of the month of Muharram. Last week, we broke our fast with those who observed the Muharram fast. And today, we distributed the aşure made by the cemevi and non-governmental organizations. As you can see, a beautiful example of unity and solidarity was experienced in Erzincan. These days of Muharram and our aşure days are times when our unity and solidarity are reinforced. They are days when brotherhood peaks. They are days when we fulfill the requirements of our traditions, culture, civilization, and faith. I would like to thank all my friends who prepared such a beautiful atmosphere for us, our deputy governors, NGO leaders, and society presidents. We realize that we may be different, we may look at things differently, we may think differently, but we have common grounds. Our flag, our homeland, our state; if we act by holding onto these common grounds in a spirit of brotherhood, I truly believe that both our Erzincan and our people will be very happy. I thank everyone who contributed. I wish our aşure day is blessed. We also say our month of Muharram is blessed.” said.
