A ‘Traditional Circumcision Festival’ event was organized for a thousand children in Esenler.

The free circumcision event held annually in Esenler, Istanbul, took place with the participation of Esenler Mayor Mehmet Tevfik Göksu.

This year, the 14th “Traditional Circumcision Festival” organized by the Esenler Municipality was held in the Esenler July 15 National Garden. In the organization carried out by the Health Affairs Directorate of Esenler Municipality, free circumcision services are provided for the children of families in need, orphans, and those requiring assistance. The event saw a high turnout from citizens and began with the participation of Esenler Mayor Mehmet Tevfik Göksu. Göksu presented the circumcision outfits to the children and took commemorative photos with them. As part of the organization, one thousand children will go to hospitals contracted by the municipality and will be circumcised within a month.

Speaking at the event, Esenler Mayor Mehmet Tevfik Göksu stated, “This circumcision ceremony has become a classic in Esenler. On average, we circumcise a thousand of our children every year, and we do this not by setting up tents, but in the best hospitals and the most hygienic environments because each of these children is entrusted to us, and we are obligated to take care of this trust, nurture it, protect it, and look after it. Your children and the future of Esenler are entrusted to us. You are here for the circumcision of the children. You will receive their circumcision outfits and have them circumcised. They actually begin to turn the first corner of life with circumcision. The first moment a boy turns that corner is his circumcision. May Allah always guide them in the right direction at that corner they turn. May Allah grant them beautiful friends in their lives because the most valuable thing in a person’s life is their friends. May Allah grant them a peaceful life with their families, beautiful achievements, abundance in their lives, and health and well-being.”

Mehmet Oğuzhan, one of the fathers of the children who received outfits, said, “First of all, we thank our municipality for not leaving us alone on this happy day. I thank everyone who contributed.”
