University candidates receiving education at Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Education and Support Courses Centers increased their success levels in YKS results. Out of the 4,275 students preparing for the exam at the course centers, 9 ranked in the top thousand, 31 in the top five thousand, 62 in the top ten thousand, and 252 students managed to be among the top 50 thousand.
Under the auspices of the Social Services Department, course centers serving throughout the city had a total of 4,275 students preparing for the exam. In addition to free education, the education staff, who were present for the students in every aspect with resource book support, study areas, counseling services, and motivation activities, took pride in the success achieved by the students. Out of the 4,275 students preparing for the exam, 9 ranked in the top thousand, 31 in the top five thousand, 62 in the top ten thousand, and 252 students were included in the top 50 thousand ranking.
“Last year we had 3 students in the top thousand, this year we have 9 students.” Social Services Department Education Services Branch Manager Cem Karakuş expressed that they eagerly awaited the exam results as every year, stating, “Our students receiving education at the course centers once again achieved great success in an exam result. We thank all students, parents, and teachers who did their best for this success. Last year we had 3 students in the top thousand, and this year we have 9 students. Similarly, while we had 218 students in the top 50 thousand last year, we increased this number to 252 this year. Our support to students will continue to increase in the future.”
“We will provide guidance services to candidates.” Karakuş also mentioned that they will provide guidance services to all candidates during the preference period, saying, “As of Friday, July 19, we are waiting for our students living in the central districts at the Congress and Exhibition Center from 09:00 to 18:00 seven days a week. Our students residing in all other districts can benefit from preference guidance at our YKS course center in their district during weekdays. This service is not only for our own students. We also welcome all students and families who want to receive services from outside. Our goal is to ensure equal opportunities in education for all young people.”
Students achieved success. Hümeyra Yazar, who prepared for the exam at the Erdemli Branch of the Education and Support Courses Center and ranked 179th in verbal and 3,308th in quantitative, stated, “My study process here was good. The fact that it was free and the free textbooks and study areas they provided were important advantages for me. I also liked the environment. It motivated me.”
Hazan Lotis Gündoğdu, who prepared for the exam at the Akdeniz branch and ranked 396th in Turkey, stated that the preparation process went very well, saying, “There was a complete prep course atmosphere. They also provided many resources, which was quite good because test books are very expensive. I will go to another city for university, but I will visit this place and my teachers whenever I come back.”
Özgür Keş, who prepared for the exam at the Erdemli branch and ranked 592nd in quantitative, aiming for computer engineering, expressed that the center contributed significantly to him, stating, “The teachers were very attentive. I prepared for the exam very well. The fact that the center is free is a big plus for us.”
Özgür Çelik, who prepared for the exam at the Akdeniz branch and ranked 850th in quantitative, stated that they took advantage of the good opportunities offered to them, saying, “If we made them and our family happy, then we are happy.”
