Foreign students studying Turkish at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) graduated with a ceremony held. Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz attended the graduation ceremony organized by the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (ULUTÖMER) at BUÜ.

Foreign students studying Turkish at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) graduated in a ceremony held for this occasion. Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Arı, academic and administrative staff, as well as students attended the graduation ceremony organized by BUÜ Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (ULUTÖMER). Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz pointed out that they host students from approximately 120 different countries around the world. Emphasizing that they are one of the leading universities in Turkey in terms of the number of foreign students, Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz stated, ‘We have students from almost every country you can think of. Currently, we have over 6500 foreign students. We prefer to call them guest students rather than foreign. They are our guests and we make every effort to host them in the best way possible. These young people who will learn Turkish will also serve as voluntary ambassadors of our country when they return to their own countries after graduation. They have received a very successful Turkish education. They will also receive education in their specialized fields from us. We wish them success in their new educational lives. We will continue to be together. I congratulate all the students who have earned certificates and express our thanks to all the teachers who taught them.’ Director of ULUTÖMER Prof. Dr. Fatih Demirel mentioned that the Turkish nation has a very ancient and ancient language. Emphasizing the importance of Turkish in history and the Turkish states established, Prof. Dr. Fatih Demirel stated that the development of the language continued after the proclamation of the Republic. Demirel, providing information that Turkish education for foreigners is conducted through TÖMERs today, said, ‘We, as ULUTÖMER, are the ones doing this job at our university. We were established in 2014. So far, we have taught Turkish to thousands of foreigners. In just this period, we taught our language to 185 students from 74 different countries. Today, we will deliver success certificates to the students who have successfully completed our courses. We congratulate all the students who have earned certificates and our teachers who taught them Turkish in the best way.’ After the opening speeches, students performed songs, poems, and dances specific to their regions. The ceremony, which witnessed enjoyable moments, ended after the students received their certificates.
