Bakırköy District Governor Köklü has been appointed as the Governor of Tokat.

With the presidential decree, Bakırköy District Governor Abdullah Köklü was appointed to the vacant position of Tokat Governorship. Following Numan Hatipoğlu’s appointment as the Elazığ Governor, Bakırköy District Governor Abdullah Köklü was appointed to the vacant position of Tokat Governorship. Who is Abdullah Köklü? Abdullah Köklü, born in Bilecik-Bozüyük, is originally from Ankara-Nallıhan. He completed his primary education in Balıkesir and Kocaeli, and his secondary education in Istanbul. In 2003, he graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration. He started his career as a Kocaeli District Governor Candidate by passing the relevant exams. He completed his district internship in Kocaeli Governorate, inspection internship in Rize, and district governor internship in Sakarya-Akyazı. He then served as a deputy district governor in the districts of Bursa province, namely Büyükorhan, Harmancık, and Keles. In 2007, he was sent by the Ministry of Interior to the University of Leicester in the UK for a year to improve his knowledge and language skills. After returning to the country, he successfully completed the public diplomacy and 93rd District Governorship courses in Ankara. He served as the district governor of Afyonkarahisar-Hocalar from 2009 to 2011, Artvin-Şavşat from 2011 to 2013, and Bingöl-Genç from 2013 to 2016. In December 2016, with a Decree, he was appointed as the Deputy Director of Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Interior and temporarily served in the Village Development Administration and Special Provincial Administrations departments at the Directorate General of Local Administrations. Between 2017 and 2022, he held the positions of Deputy Governor and General Secretary of Provincial Administration in Çanakkale Province. As of August 12, 2022, he was appointed as the Bakırköy District Governor. Abdullah Köklü is married to Teacher Yasemin Hanım and is the father of two children.
