Under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Gürdal Yılmaz, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine, within the body of Trabzon Teknokent, a project is being carried out to provide fast and reliable solutions to patients’ health problems. Yılmaz noted that patients can apply from their own homes via phone or other online methods, stating that regardless of where patients live, they need practical, reliable, meticulous, and privacy-compliant healthcare services. Patients can apply from their own homes via phone or other online methods. Based on the complaints of the patients, with the participation of appropriate specialists, all possible diagnosis and treatment options are reviewed to determine the suitable treatment methods.
Yılmaz stated that within the scope of the project, the diagnoses and treatments of 628 patients were evaluated in academic medical councils. He mentioned that during the one-year period of the project, 73 patients from abroad, mostly from Georgia, the Netherlands, and Germany, and 628 patients from Turkey, mostly from Istanbul, Rize, Trabzon, and Erzincan, had their diagnoses and treatments evaluated in academic medical councils. The complaints of the patients, laboratory and radiological tests were collectively evaluated by all participating professors in the council, and diagnosis and treatment recommendations were made. According to the recommendations of the council, patients who needed additional tests or treatment were directed to the nearest healthcare institutions by making appointments for them.
Yılmaz also pointed out that they will provide opportunities for assistants to gain experience. He said, ‘In the coming days, we will open these councils to our students as well, thus enabling medical faculty students and our assistants to gain experience within the scope of medical education. Patients who are facing health problems related to many different specialties and wish to have their condition evaluated in an academic council, those who have a diagnosis but seek a second opinion, and those who want to consult with a specialized academician without going to the hospital, regardless of where they live in the world, can personally apply by calling +905306120661, sending an email to mdstargrup@gmail.com, messaging on mdstar_akademi Instagram account, or by making an appointment at the KTU Faculty of Medicine Infectious Diseases outpatient clinic’.
