Bursaspor President Enes Çelik expressed his discontent on social media regarding the events at the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council Meeting. President Çelik stated, ‘We announce with respect to the public that we are ready to take any decision, including resigning from our duties with our colleagues, if it leads to a division.’
Bursaspor President Enes Çelik made striking statements. Informing the public through his social media account about the events at the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council Meeting, Çelik mobilized the community. Addressing the issue of the petrol station planned to be allocated to Bursaspor, Enes Çelik stated, ‘Dear residents of Bursa and Bursaspor supporters, as you all know, within the 50-day period since we took office, we have ensured the permanent clearance of the 426 million transfer window debt for Bursaspor. By making transfers of 12 footballers whose quality is undisputed, a team was formed that is considered ‘the biggest favorite for the championship.’ As a result of the unity and solidarity atmosphere established in the city, significant financial support was gathered. The support will continue in the upcoming period. At the Metropolitan Municipality Council meeting where the issue of our planned permanent income facility was discussed to save the future of Bursaspor, we thank our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Mustafa Bozbey, AK Party Council Group and Deputy Group Chairman Mr. Oktay Yılmaz, MHP Council Group and Deputy Group Chairman Mr. İsmail Şenol, and the council members of other supporting parties who fully supported our project.’
‘We must create permanent sources of income’
The written statement continued, ‘While holding our board meeting today, we watched the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality council meeting where the issue concerning Bursaspor was discussed and we were deeply saddened with our board member colleagues. Until today, we prioritized unity and solidarity without causing division, regardless of party affiliation. As you would appreciate, Bursaspor cannot raise money through campaigns forever. As it is a public benefit association, it must create its own permanent sources of income. We thank once again the esteemed elders who supported us in our struggle for salvation, as mentioned above, but we announce with respect to the public that we are ready to take any decision, including resigning from our duties with our colleagues, if it leads to a division.’
