Zeynep Köşker, the mother of police officer Demet Sezen who was martyred in the coup attempt of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) on July 15, 2016, expressed that her pain has not subsided yet, saying, ‘Let them give me my liver, my dear, I would give up on the world.’ On the day of the coup attempt, police officer Demet Sezen, a mother of one child who was on duty, was martyred in the second bomb thrown by an F-16 to the Gölbaşı Police Special Operations Department on July 15, 2016. Learning about the coup attempt, Sezen entrusted her 3-year-old child to her police husband and went to duty without hesitation. Zeynep Köşker, the mother of martyr Demet Sezen, commemorated her daughter whom she lost 8 years ago with tears at her grave. Despite the fact that her daughter Demet Sezer was martyred 8 years ago, Zeynep Köşker, the mother, stated, ‘My lungs are burning. What can a mother say? Let them give me my liver, my dear, I would give up on the world. As long as my liver would come so I could smell her, and I could smell her. I miss both my child and my daughter. My liver, my Demet, my almond-eyed, my violet-stemmed, what happened my child? I say. Did you leave your mother so lonely like this, you left, I say. You left me to fire, to ashes, my dear child, I say. Stay hungry, stay out in the open but do not experience the pain of the liver. I lost my mother, father, siblings, and spouse but the pain of the liver is different. I whisper my child’s name all night. I am not experiencing something easy.’ Sezen, who worked at the Human Resources Branch of the Special Operations Department Social Services Office, was responsible for reaching out to the families of martyrs.
