July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day

A conference titled ‘The Victory of the Nation’ was organized by the Social and Institutional Services Directorate of SANKO University within the scope of the ‘July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day’ events.

Historian and Assistant Professor Celal Pekdoğan stated in his speech at the conference, ‘The noble Turkish nation has always stood by its homeland, flag, and land with faith and determination.’

Assistant Professor Pekdoğan pointed out that the July 15 coup attempt was an attempt to invade Turkey.

Stating that ‘In order to protect this paradise homeland against external forces and traitors within us, our nation, regardless of age or gender, heroically fought in unity and solidarity, never allowing traitors to succeed,’ Assistant Professor Pekdoğan emphasized the following:

‘We must ensure the perpetuation of the Republic of Turkey State based on the founding philosophy of our Republic declared under the leadership of Great Atatürk, without compromising on democracy. We have no other choice but to exist.

I congratulate our noble nation on the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, and remember our precious martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the indivisible integrity of our homeland with mercy and gratitude, and our heroic veterans with gratitude.’

The commemoration program, hosted by Abdurrahman Yiğit, a third-year medical faculty student, was attended by SANKO University Rector Prof. Dr. Güner Dağlı, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. M. Metin Bayram, General Secretary Dr. Yusuf Ziya Yıldırım, Medical Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Salih Murat Akkın, Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Türkan Pasinlioğlu, and Deputy Dean Dr. Assistant Professor Deniz Mıhçıoğlu, SANKO University Hospital Responsible Director Dr. Mehmet Subaşı, as well as academic and administrative staff.
