Kastamonu University ranked 601+ among a total of 685 universities in Europe that made it to the QS 2025 Regional Rankings of World Universities. The London-based higher education ranking organization, QS, announced its annual university success rankings. Kastamonu University, which ranked 601+ among a total of 685 universities in Europe, stood at the 66th place in Turkey and 61st among 92 universities in West Asia. QS takes into account factors such as ‘citations per faculty’, ‘faculty/student ratio’, ‘international research network visibility’, ‘international student ratio’, ‘international faculty ratio’, ‘graduate employability’, ‘activities in the field of sustainability’, ‘reputation among employers’, and ‘reputation among academics’ in the regional ranking list of world universities for 2025. In the overall evaluation, Kastamonu University stands out for its contributions to science in categories such as international student ratio, citations per faculty, and number of articles per faculty. Kastamonu University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, stated that being listed in a significant list as a young university is encouraging for future work. He emphasized that they work with the consciousness of producing social and economic benefits through innovative projects by improving research and development opportunities for academics and academic, social, and cultural opportunities for students. Rector Topal also expressed the importance of establishing a sustainable quality-focused education approach and system in all processes of the university to be successful, adopting this approach as a strategic goal, and aiming to demonstrate sustainable performance in line with strategic plan goals. Stressing that dedicated work is the foundation of success, Rector Topal congratulated all academic and administrative staff who contributed to these successes. Additionally, Kastamonu University’s Faculty of Forestry Journal, which started its publication in 2001, continues its success by being included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) database, which is one of the sections of Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science Core Collection. The journal, which periodically publishes on forestry, forest industry and technologies, wildlife, and management topics, maintained its success. While the 2022 impact factor of the journal was calculated as 0.5, this value increased to 0.8 for 2023. Ranking 60th among 89 journals scanned in ESCI and indexed in the forestry category, Kastamonu University’s Faculty of Forestry Journal was listed among journals indexed in the Q3 category. Being one of the two journals in Turkey indexed in the Q3 category and listed in the forestry category, the Faculty of Forestry Journal is advancing Kastamonu University’s quality standards.
