Amir Ateş wind in Talas

Talas Music Society, initiated by the Mayor of Talas, Mustafa Yalçın, and received great interest, has put its signature on another unforgettable event. The Amir Ateş Tribute Night held at the Erciyes University Cultural Center was enjoyed by art enthusiasts who filled the hall. In the first part of the night, consisting of two sections, Talas Music Society performed songs in the rast maqam. In the second part, where Amir Ateş also took the stage, the beloved pieces of the famous composer were performed. At the end of the approximately two-hour program, Mayor of Talas, Mustafa Yalçın, pointed out that the music society has become an important cultural and artistic center, saying, ‘When Amir Ateş visited me at my residence, he shared a surprise with me. He had composed around 10 pieces related to Kayseri. If everything goes well, we will host my teacher here on September 20. When I mentioned the establishment of Talas Municipality Music Society to my teacher, he and his assistants came all the way here, shared their regulations and bylaws with us, and thus we took a step in this way. Our society is different from conservatory education because there is no obligation or registration requirement. Anyone who wants can come and join the activities here. I thank my friends, conductors, and music society for being here.’ The renowned composer Amir Ateş, who spoke at the event, congratulated Mayor Yalçın, saying, ‘I thank everyone here very much. Our mayor has taken the good aspects of the Uskudar Music Society and brought them here. I am truly proud of him. I swear by artists from Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir radios, it is no different.’
