“The best of Europe, Parla of Izmir”

EMR Windsurf and Sailing Club athlete Parla Kabasakal became the European Champion in the U15 Girls Category and the third in the U17 Girls Category at the IQ Foil Youth and Junior European Championship held in France. EMR Windsurf and Sailing Club shined like the wind at the championship where athletes from many countries competed. Participating with 6 athletes in the National Team, EMR Windsurf Sailing Club made history once again. Club athlete Parla Kabasakal made Izmir proud by becoming the ‘European Champion’ in the U15 Girls Category. However, Izmir’s Parla did not settle for that, and she also managed to step on the podium by becoming the third in the challenging U17 category. Parla’s success also set a new record as until now, the best achievement of athletes who became champions in U15 and then competed in U17 was the 8th place, while Izmir’s Parla became the medalist by stepping on the podium.
