Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University is celebrating its 32nd anniversary.

The Rector of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, released a message on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the university’s establishment. In his message, Rector Uslu stated that our university, which is the shining star of Anatolia in higher education and science, will continue its work with determination to be a specialized university in priority areas focused on regional development, pioneering in serving the community, and being innovative. Uslu included the following statements in his message: “Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, with its academic knowledge and experience, continues its education, research, and development activities without interruption for 32 years in line with the important vision it has acquired to raise generations dedicated to national values. Our university, proudly carrying the name of our heroic martyr and fellow countryman Non-Commissioned Officer Ömer Halisdemir, also undertakes a locomotive role for our province and region by always participating in national and international academic platforms to be worthy of our martyr’s honorable memory. In the 32 years it has left behind, our university, which has achieved numerous successes in science, R&D, culture, arts, and sports, worked with the motto ‘The Shining Star of Anatolia in Higher Education and Science’ and for the first time in its history, was ranked in the rankings of the world’s most prestigious institution, Times Higher Education (THE), this year. Among 1904 higher education institutions deemed worthy of evaluation from all over the world, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, placed in the 1501+ band, wrote its name in the list of 75 universities from Turkey, ranking 36th. Our university is also ranked among 1127 higher education institutions in THE’s Asia University Rankings, and in 601+ band among 1172 universities in THE’s World Young Universities Rankings. Additionally, our university, which entered THE’s 2024 Impact Rankings for the first time, ranked among 2152 institutions, contributing to eight of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, becoming one of the universities that provided contribution. In the ‘No Poverty’ goal, it is in the 401-600 band, in the ‘Partnerships for the Goals’ goal, in the 601-800 band, and in other goals, it is among the top 1000 universities in the world. In this evaluation, our university, which has been on a path of continuous development and improvement since its establishment, has gained even more momentum and reached a point to be proud of with the recent works we have carried out. In this context, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, which was included in the Institutional Accreditation Program by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) in 2023, earned the right to receive the Institutional Accreditation Certificate by writing its name among the 53 universities accredited in Turkey due to its successful works in the fields of quality assurance and accreditation. Our university, which is renowned nationally and internationally in many fields from science to art, from research and development to technology, and from sports, will continue its work with determination to be a specialized university in priority areas focused on regional development, pioneering in serving the community, and being innovative in the future. The greatest factor in all the achievements we will sign with our current successes is the adoption of our university’s corporate identity by our academic and administrative staff and their unity in line with our institution’s goals. With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate our University on its new age and sincerely wish for even greater successes to come.
