Intensive scheduled events will be organized in Niğde for the Democracy and National Unity Day on July 15. Within the framework of the events to be jointly organized by the Niğde Governorship and Niğde Municipality, climbing to 3 different peaks in Aladağlar will be carried out and Turkish flags will be raised on the peaks in memory of the martyrs. In the events where the National Unity March and Torchlight Procession will be organized, a democracy vigil will be held at the governorate campus. After the performances of Agah and İbrahim Sadri, prayers will be recited in the mosques on the night that connects July 15 to July 16. The Democracy and National Unity Day events will start on July 13 with the ‘National Unity Day Camp and Summit Climbing’ program. For the 15th of July Epic Democracy and National Unity Day Camp and Summit Climbing, a gathering will be held in front of the Niğde Governorate on July 13. The athletes and technical team participating in the climb will attend the ceremony and march to the Niğde Martyrs’ Cemetery at 09:30 on July 13, then move to the camp area. On the same day, a tree planting event will be held in Demirkazık village connected to the Çamardı district, then the group will move to the Sokullu Pınarı Camp area and a roll call for July 15 will be conducted. The start of the summit climb will be at 04.00 on Sunday, July 14. Climbing will be carried out to the peaks of Karasay at an altitude of 3562 meters, Eznevit at an altitude of 3551 meters, and Emler at an altitude of 3723 meters. Glorious flags will be raised in memory of our martyrs on all three peaks. Niğde Municipality will organize the ‘Mediterranean Off-Road Cup’ races in collaboration with the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) for the Democracy and National Unity Day on July 15. Between July 13-14, the races will be held where approximately 40 pilots from all over the country, along with many Off-Road enthusiasts, will try to reach the cup by completing 6 different stages. The Democracy and National Unity Day event will take place on July 15 at 10.00, where the provincial protocol, civil society organizations, families of martyrs, and veterans will visit the martyr’s graves at the Niğde Martyrdom. Quran recitation and prayers will be held here. At 11.00, a photo exhibition themed ‘July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day’ will be opened in Şadırvan Park. Before noon prayer, Quran recitation, Mevlid-i Sharif, and prayers by the sermonists will be held at Dışarı Mosque. Then visits will be made to the families of martyrs and veterans. Ömer Halisdemir will be commemorated at his grave. At 18.00, the grave of Ömer Halisdemir, who changed the course of the coup attempt by shooting the coupist general in the head and was martyred by the coup plotters, in the Çukurkuyu town of Bor district will be visited, and Quran recitation and prayers will be held. At 20.15, a ‘July 15 National Unity March and Torchlight Procession’ will be organized from Derbent Intersection to the governorate campus. At 20.45, a democracy vigil will be held in the Governorate Campus Parking Lot. The beloved voice of Turkish Sufi Music, Agah, will give a concert at the governorate campus, where the famous poet and presenter İbrahim Sadri will also recite poems. The July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day event will end at midnight 00.13 on July 16 with the recitation of prayers from the mosques.
