Crisis in CHP Bandırma District Organization: Mass resignations on the horizon

Recent events in the CHP Bandırma District Organization are increasing the tension within the party. The fact that many female members were not invited to a breakfast became the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Internal conflicts in the CHP Bandırma District Organization are causing the tension within the party to escalate day by day. It is claimed that many members are preparing to collectively resign from the party due to the recent divisions. During a breakfast organized by Bandırma Mayor Dursun Mirza for the CHP Bandırma District Women’s Branch Management, CHP Bandırma party members, and held at Çamlık Café owned by Bandırma Municipality, 85 people attended; however, the women members who were not invited expressed their dissatisfaction by going to the party building and criticizing CHP Bandırma District Chairman Mehmet Atak and CHP Bandırma Women’s Branch President Filiz Özdemir. While CHP District Chairman Mehmet Atak remained silent as usual, Filiz Özdemir responded to the dissatisfied women by saying, ‘The women who worked and ran with Dursun Mirza during his presidency election campaign were invited to the breakfast.’ On the other hand, the women members who were not invited to the breakfast continued to express their dissatisfaction by commenting under the breakfast posts shared by Mayor Dursun Mirza and CHP Bandırma Women’s Branch President Filiz Özdemir on social media, stating that they were not informed and invited. In response to the complaints of the female members, Bandırma Mayor Dursun Mirza replied to the comments, saying, ‘Sister, I will also organize a separate breakfast for our women who were not informed. Please do not be upset, you and our other friends.’ Trying to calm down the incident. This incident further increases the tension within the party, and the number of members who will resign remains a matter of curiosity.
