Sivasspor’s team captain Uğur Çiftçi stated that they want to make a good start to the new season, saying, ‘We want to compete in the top ranks as Sivasspor. Every season is challenging but Sivasspor is a club that always has goals and ambitions. Hopefully, we will do our best to achieve these goals.’ Continuing their preparations for the new season, team captain Uğur Çiftçi from Sivasspor made exclusive statements to İhlas News Agency (İHA). The 32-year-old defender emphasized that they are preparing for the new season with double training sessions, stating, ‘Just like every season, this season has also just begun. Hopefully, the 2024-2025 season will be a good one. Firstly, Sivasspor will be a team that reaches its goals without any accidents, injuries, or troubles. We have started training, we are working. Our double training sessions continue. We are training well. We have new teammates and they do not experience an adaptation process because this is a club like a family. Hopefully, we will integrate with our new teammates and aim to compete in the top ranks as Sivasspor. Every season is challenging but Sivasspor is a club that always has goals and ambitions. Hopefully, to reach these goals, we will do our best first and foremost.’ Talking about the goal of reaching Europe, Çiftçi responded, ‘It is too early to talk about the European goal right now. We have just started the season. If I said we are going to Europe now or in the future, it would be a lie, but we will do our best to reach Europe.’ Speaking about his personal goals at Sivasspor, captain Çiftçi said, ‘Sivasspor is a special club for me. It is a club where I am in Sivas and play in Sivas, which is my hometown. Therefore, I will fight to the last drop of my blood, I will run a lot. There may be bad passes, but I cannot run very badly, I do not have that luxury. I am aware of that. Therefore, I will try to reflect the best of my abilities.’ Making a call for support to the red-white fans, Çiftçi concluded his speech by saying, ‘Our fans are our driving force. If they stand by us, I believe we can achieve the goal of reaching Europe. If they support us, hopefully, we will experience Europe together once again.’
