The Love of the Century Izmir has met with the readers.

Izmir Chamber of Commerce has made a significant contribution to the history of the Republic of Turkey, which has left behind a century, by shedding light on the role of Izmir. The 18th book of Izmir Chamber of Commerce Culture, Art and History Publications, titled ‘Passion of the Century Izmir’, written by Dr. Associate Professor Erkan Serçe, who is a faculty member at the Department of History Education at Dokuz Eylül University Buca Faculty of Education, has met with the readers. Izmir Chamber of Commerce Chairman Mahmut Özgener stated that they have taken on the duty of conveying the events that have taken place in Izmir from the past to the present to future generations, and expressed their happiness in presenting a valuable work that covers both the early years of the Republic and recent history during this important period marking the 100 years of our Republic. He said, ‘We are excited because with this publication, we will leave a legacy for the future by sharing the recent history of Izmir, which many of us have witnessed.’Century-old written documentÖzgener continued his words by stating that in ‘Passion of the Century Izmir’, events that have marked Izmir’s agenda from 1923 to 2023 are narrated: ‘I believe that this book, which covers a significant portion of Izmir’s 100-year history, is a valuable source that will always be beneficial.
