Ege University (EU) rose 18 ranks to take the 363rd place in the ranking of countries affiliated with the Council of Europe prepared by the prestigious UK-based ranking institution Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), while maintaining its 9th place among state universities in Turkey. Ege University, which scored 21.8 points in the evaluation, ranked 1st among state universities in Turkey and 248th in Europe in the ‘Faculty-Student Ratio’ criterion. Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak, stating that Ege University continues its rise among world universities as in this ranking, said, ‘Our university, which is fully institutionally accredited, award-winning in student focus, and a leading research university, continues to rise in the rankings of different rating institutions evaluating universities worldwide. We observe that Ege University’s global and innovative education model and sustainable quality culture are positively reflected in the reports of international assessment institutions. With the projects and collaborations we have implemented in line with our recent internationalization vision, we express that we have risen to a more recognizable and well-known position on a global scale as a higher education institution. We showed a significant momentum in the ‘2023 Status of Our Universities in 11 World General Rankings’ report prepared by Leiden 2024 World University Rankings and URAP Research Laboratory, which was shared with the public last week. In the Leiden ranking, we took the 624th place globally, the 5th place in Turkey, and rose by 11 ranks to the 190th place among European universities compared to the previous ranking. Similarly, we demonstrated the success of being one of the 6 universities listed in all 11 world rankings in the URAP report. Now, in the QS 2025 ranking of countries affiliated with the Council of Europe, based in the UK, we rose by 18 ranks to take the 363rd place. We maintained our 9th place among state universities in Turkey.’ Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak added, ‘Our university scored a total of 21.8 points in the ranking, which consists of criteria such as Academic Recognition, Employer Recognition, Citations per Paper, Papers per Faculty, International Research Network, Employment Outcomes, Faculty-Student Ratio, International Student Diversity, International Faculty Ratio, Incoming Exchange Students, Outgoing Exchange Students, and Sustainability. Our University, which managed to rank 1st among state universities in Turkey in the Faculty-Student Ratio criterion, ranked 248th in Europe. We will continue to make our efforts visible at the global level as Ege University. We will continue our scientific production uninterruptedly to make the ‘Century of Turkey’ the century of Turkish science. I extend my thanks to all my colleagues who contribute their intellect and hard work to this success.’
