The Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival will be organized for the 25th time. 1,200 cultural and art ambassadors from 75 countries will meet at the world’s best festival. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Büyükçekmece Municipality will collaborate to hold the festival between July 24 and August 3, promising unforgettable days to the people of Istanbul once again. The 25th Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival will host a variety of attention-grabbing international events such as the International Sculpture Symposium, International Güler Ertan Photography Competition, International Altınköprü Folk Dance Competition, International Handicrafts Exhibition, International Embroidery Workshop, International Puppet Workshop, International Children’s Handicrafts Workshop, public concerts, water shows, and more. Anadolu Ateşi will celebrate its 25th anniversary. The International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival will officially open with a magnificent ceremony at the historic Kültürpark, which gains meaning with the works of Mimar Sinan, on Monday, July 29. Following the Flag Ceremony with flags of 75 participating countries on the historic Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Bridge, breathtaking dance, water, light, and flyboard shows will take place over Büyükçekmece Lake. The official opening ceremony at the Kültürpark Kemal Sunal Amphitheatre, with the participation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and guests, will feature the “Working with Steps” show, a joint project of Anadolu Ateşi and Altınköprü Folk Dance Group celebrating its 25th year. The festival expands to Istanbul. As part of the 25th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, dance groups and handicraft workshops of participating countries, along with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Turkish Music Ensemble, Turkish Classical Music Ensemble, Municipal Brass Band, and Municipal Mehter Band, will spread to Istanbul. Throughout the festival, teams will organize shows for the local people in squares and cultural venues in different districts of Istanbul. The festival, which once again allures the “World’s Best Culture and Art Festival” award with its cultural, artistic, and dance shows, will come to a magnificent close on Saturday, August 3. The press launch of the 25th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival will take place on Thursday, July 18 at Artİstanbul Feshane. 9-time consecutive winner of the “World’s Best Festival” award. The International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, which started in 2000 and became a member of the World Dance Festivals Association affiliated with UNESCO in 2003, is the only festival in Category A that is a member of CIOFF in Turkey. The festival, which will be held for the 25th time this year, has been honored 9 times with the “World’s Best Culture and Art Festival” award by the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) and the International Dance Festivals Federation (FIDAF).
