Turkey’s most prestigious chess events will once again take place in Denizli, just like last year, in July and August. Between 14-21 July, the Turkish Chess 1st League and 2nd League competitions will be held, followed by the Turkish Chess Cup matches between 21-28 July. The tournaments will bring together top chess players from around the country to compete and showcase their skills. Denizli is honored to host these significant events for the chess community in Turkey.

Turkey’s most prestigious chess events will take place once again in Denizli in July and August, just like last year. Between July 14-21, the Turkish Chess 1st League and 2nd League matches will be held, followed by the Chess Clubs Championship between July 21-28, the Chess Turkey Cup between July 29-August 6, and the Visually Impaired Chess Turkey Championship between August 7-15.

The countdown has begun for the major chess events. Five separate championships organized by the Turkish Chess Federation and Denizli Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate will take place in Denizli this year, expecting around 5,000 people including athletes, their families, coaches, and club officials to attend.

July 14-21 Turkey Chess 1st and 2nd League Matches
The competitions for the Turkish Chess First and Second Leagues, where important teams compete for the championship and skilled chess players from around the world and our country make their moves, will take place between July 14-21. The competition of the 25 teams in the First League will be held at Anemon Hotel, while the competition of the 34 teams in the Second League will be at Pamukkale Chess Hall. After the 9 rounds of the championship, the top three teams in the First League will advance to the Turkey Is Bank Chess Super League. In the Second League, the top four teams will have the opportunity to advance to the First League.

July 21-28 Turkey Chess Clubs Championship
The championship race of chess clubs will take place in Denizli between July 21-28, 2024. Approximately 70 teams will compete for the championship. The matches will be played at Pamukkale Chess Hall. After the 9 rounds of the championship, the top 6 teams in the ranking will earn the right to participate in the 2025 Turkish Chess Second League.

Turkey Cup in Denizli from July 29 to August 6
One of the most prestigious chess competitions, the Turkey Cup, will be held in Denizli between July 29 and August 6, 2024. The competition, where everyone can compete together regardless of age, gender, or any obstacles, is expected to be attended by around 1,000 athletes.

Visually Impaired Championship on August 07-15
The last chess event of the summer in chess tournaments will be the Visually Impaired Chess Turkey Championship held between August 07-15. Visually impaired athletes will compete with specially designed tactile chess sets.

“Denizli has become the center of chess in Turkey”
Preparations are underway at the Denizli Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, which is getting ready to host national chess events one after another. The countdown has begun for the championships at Pamukkale Chess Hall, one of Turkey’s most modern chess halls inaugurated in 2022. Mentioning that Denizli is among the top three provinces in Turkey in terms of licensed chess players and activities, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Omer Ilman expressed their efforts for the development of chess as in every sport branch. Ilman stated that Denizli has become the center of chess in Turkey and mentioned that athletes, officials, and athlete families were pleased with the hospitality in last year’s championships, and Federation President Ms. Gulkiz Tülay and her team chose Denizli again for this year’s competitions. Ilman expressed that they will host the championships in the best way possible with their experienced staff and modern facilities, and wished success to all athletes and teams coming to Denizli for the competitions.
