Graduation ceremonies at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) continue without slowing down. Ceremonies are being organized for all students who have earned the right to receive diplomas from all faculties, vocational schools, and vocational colleges.

The Faculty of Fine Arts bid farewell to the students who successfully completed the 2022-2023 academic year with a special ceremony. The program, held at the Prof. Dr. Mete Cengiz Cultural Center, was attended by BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Hatice Şahin, academics, students, and families.

Art and science converge under the university roof

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz pointed out that the Faculty of Fine Arts is one of the youngest faculties of the university in terms of its establishment year. Emphasizing that the faculty is gradually gaining a say in terms of its scientific quality, number of academics, research, and graduates, Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz stated, “It is one of our most beautiful and special faculties. When we look at the modern world in general, we see that universities are the places where knowledge is produced. Universities also have extremely special units such as the Faculty of Fine Arts. The problems arising from the tension in the soul of a person tired in the daily hustle and bustle are revealed through arts. It makes us happy that art and science are in harmony under the university roof. Today, we are on such a beautiful day of such a beautiful faculty. I congratulate all the students who deserve to graduate from here, and I thank the academics and families.”

Developing individuals’ and society’s interest in art

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Hatice Şahin reminded that they admit students to all departments through special talent exams. Dean Şahin, who stated that they have graduated 376 students so far, said, “The number of registered students for this academic year is 208. As a faculty, we work with the vision of educating preferred individuals with artistic, scientific, and professional knowledge accumulation. At the same time, we aim to increase individuals’ and society’s interest in art. We sincerely thank our senior executives who do not withhold their support, our academics who perform their duties with sacrifice, and our administrative staff. We thank our families for their efforts. We congratulate our students for their graduation and wish them success in their new lives.” The program, where students who achieved degrees in the faculty and departments were rewarded with a certificate of achievement and a plaque of appreciation, was concluded with all participating students throwing their caps.
