Denizli Exporters Association (DENİB) rewarded 41 export champion companies at a well-attended ceremony held with the hosting of Denizli Exporters Association at Merkezefendi Cultural Center. Denizli Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun, former Minister of Economy and AK Party Vice President/Economy Affairs Chairman Nihat Zeybekci, Deputy Minister of Trade Özgür Volkan Ağar, Republican People’s Party Denizli Deputy Şeref Arpacı, Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Ministry of Trade Export General Manager Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Deputy Chairman of Turkey Exporters Assembly Fikret Kileci, Denizli protocol, presidents of chambers and associations affiliated with Denizli Platform, presidents of exporters’ associations, industrialists, and exporting companies participated in the program.
Within the scope of DENİB Export Stars Award Ceremony, plaques were presented to our companies in six different categories. The awards were given to the top 20 manufacturing companies in 2023, the top 3 manufacturing companies operating in Uşak, the top 15 companies with over 1 million dollars in exports and ranking first in their sector, the company reaching the highest export value per unit price over 5 million dollars, the company with the highest exports as a Foreign Trade Capital Company, and finally, the company that became a member of our Association in 2023 and achieved the highest exports.
Chairman of DENİB Board of Directors Hüseyin Memişoğlu, who congratulated the export champion companies, stated that ‘In 2023, our total export from Denizli decreased by 10.8% to 4.2 billion dollars. Denizli made exports to 185 countries in 25 different sectors and nearly 3,000 product groups in 2023. The share of the Textile-Clothing sector in Denizli’s total exports was 1.4 billion dollars, with 33.3%, the share of the cable sector was 812 million dollars with 19.4%, the share of the copper wire sector was 568 million dollars with 13.6%, the share of the agricultural sector was 333 million dollars with 7.9%, and finally, the share of the natural stone sector was 252 million dollars with 6%. In addition, significant export increases were observed in fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, and cereals sectors in 2023. The top three countries we exported from Denizli in 2023 were listed as the UK, the USA, and Germany. Denizli maintained its 9th place in the ranking of provinces with the highest exports throughout the year.
As for the communication activities, DENİB continues its activities intensively. President Memişoğlu stated that they have focused on various communication activities since the beginning of 2023. They prepare a digital booklet named ‘Export 101’, which serves as a guide especially for companies starting or willing to start their international journeys. They also conduct interviews with companies in different sectors with inspiring export stories among their members to share on their social media accounts. In addition to sector-specific promotional films, they have prepared a general promotional film about the Association. They also compile and share up-to-date economic data bulletins monthly with their members.
The activities related to international marketing, education, and consultancy continue. President Memişoğlu mentioned that they have organized various international marketing events such as trade delegations, procurement delegations, fair participations, and UR-GE delegations to several countries since 2023. They also continue their DENİB Academy events in different categories. He thanked the exporters contributing to the economy and congratulated the awarded companies.
TİM Vice President Fikret Kileci emphasized the importance of exports for the country’s economy and the need to adapt to the changing world to maintain success. He congratulated the successful companies.
Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu stressed the importance of unity and solidarity against the difficulties, emphasizing the significance of exports for the survival of productive cities.
Deputy Minister of Trade Özgür Volkan thanked everyone working diligently to increase welfare and stated that the Ministry continues its efforts to elevate the country’s prosperity through exports.
After the speeches, the protocol members presented awards to the 41 export champion companies operating in Denizli and Uşak under DENİB.
