A photo exhibition themed ‘July 15’ was organized at the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the participation of July 15 Veterans. As part of the ‘July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day’ events, an exhibition consisting of photos taken on July 15 from different parts of Turkey was opened at the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). The photo exhibition was opened with the participation of Ercan Şen, Mustafa Eryılmaz, and Serdar Aydın, who were injured and became veterans in various parts of Ankara during the July 15 coup attempt. Veterans of July 15 who came to the exhibition with their families re-examined the photos taken on the night of the coup attempt, expressing their hope that such a day will not be experienced again.
‘These ‘demons’ will not find peace until they face the consequences, even before they come to Turkey,’ said Ercan Şen, who was injured in the left leg as a veteran during the helicopter fire opened at the Presidential Complex during the July 15 coup attempt. Şen mentioned that he and 4 of his friends and 2 police officers were also injured. Şen stated that a helicopter that constantly fired on the complex noticed the civilians there and started firing at them. He emphasized that two of his friends were martyred 45 minutes after the incident, saying, ‘I arrived home at 02.00 after receiving necessary treatment at the Gazi Hospital. However, seeing a helicopter landing and taking off from my home towards the General Staff Headquarters, I couldn’t bear it, so I took my two sons with me and went to the General Staff Headquarters with my injured leg. At 04.00 in the morning, I witnessed the bombing of the parliament in front of the Air Force Command. Many of our friends were martyred and injured there as well. There is still a demon under the protection of America who is on the run. These ‘demons’ will not find peace until they face the consequences, even before they come to Turkey, for us, the July 15 veterans.’
