President Alemdar signed the legal aid protocol.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar signed a legal aid protocol with Sakarya Bar Association aiming to appoint ‘lawyers’ to more citizens who cannot benefit from the right to defense due to financial impossibilities. Alemdar stated, ‘We will try to be helpful to all citizens in need of legal support.’ Bar Association President İlknur Ebiz Yıldız used the expression, ‘This protocol is very valuable for ensuring access to justice for those in need.’ Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality and Sakarya Bar Association realized the signature protocol for Bar Association and Municipality Cooperation with Legal Aid Project. With the protocol, legal aid service will be provided to citizens living in Sakarya and lacking sufficient financial means. Within the scope of the project, free lawyer appointments will be made to citizens who cannot afford legal services due to financial impossibilities with the joint support of the Metropolitan Municipality and Sakarya Bar Association. Bar Association President Lawyer İlknur Ebiz Yıldız and her administration visited Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar in his office for the protocol. The ‘Bar Association and Municipality Cooperation Aid Project’ protocol was put into effect with the signatures of President Alemdar and President Yıldız. Mayor Alemdar said, ‘Justice is an area where everyone should be equal and fair. It passes through being fair, and every citizen benefiting from legal rights in the most correct way. Therefore, we will try to be as helpful as possible to all individuals living in our city who need support in legal terms. I thank the bar president and her administration for their efforts.’ President Yıldız expressed that this protocol leads to a very valuable work, ‘Our aim is to make the work of our legal aid office, which provides free legal assistance for our citizens to apply or open lawsuits, more effective and widespread. We will be able to provide free legal assistance to more citizens. This is very valuable. This protocol was previously signed between our bar association and Serdivan Municipality on 19.02.2019, which was the first and pioneering in Turkey. Now, we have signed it with our Metropolitan Municipality through the sensitivity of our Mayor Yusuf Alemdar. I thank Mayor Yusuf Alemdar for supporting the removal of obstacles to access to justice for those in need with his sensitivity.’
