Istanbul Esenyurt University 2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony took place.

The Istanbul Esenyurt University 2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony took place at the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Show Center. The ceremony began with a minute of silence, the national anthem being sung, and the students’ procession.

Delivering the opening speech of the ceremony, Istanbul Esenyurt University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ebru Nergiz stated, ‘Today is a very special day for all of us, dear young people. You started your journey with the university entrance exam, continued with lessons, exams, and the beautiful social life of the university, and today you are celebrating by throwing your caps in the air. Of course, this is definitely not the end. I am sure that after graduating from our university, you will continue to improve yourselves, add skills to your talents, and practice your professions in accordance with professional and ethical values, and the principles of Atatürk. May Allah bless your path and may your successes continue to flourish. I wish you all the best with respect and love.’

Following the speech of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ebru Nergiz, Istanbul Esenyurt University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Özyurt addressed the students, saying, ‘We are experiencing the happiness and sadness of being together at the 2023-2024 academic year graduation ceremony. We are happy because our student siblings and teachers have prepared you for life, and now they are starting a brand new life with your support. We are sad because we are somewhat parting ways with our student siblings. I urge you, dear student siblings, never to sever your ties with the university and your teachers, know that we are always by your side. I wish you all the best and greet you with love and respect.’

Esenyurt Municipality Deputy Mayor Dilek Bayageldi, who attended the ceremony, said, ‘Thanks to your efforts, dedication, and perseverance over the years, you are experiencing this proud moment today. Dear graduates, be brave as you chase your dreams in this new phase of your life, do not lose faith, and always choose kindness. Remember that the greatest success is being able to contribute to society. I would also like to emphasize the success of our dear female students. Your success inspires hope and courage in future generations. Please never stop being an inspiration.’

Istanbul Member of Parliament Zeynel Emre also participated in the Istanbul Esenyurt University graduation ceremony and said the following words:

‘Dear students, firstly; be very brave, do not be afraid of anything. Secondly, make sure you have a set of values, rules, and ethical codes. Thirdly; the most basic thing is to truly be hardworking. Life is a bit like this, when you say I want a good life, I want to enjoy it, and I don’t want to make an effort, this is not a reality. Fourthly; collaboration, human relationships, social relations. We did not start our lives by saying let’s go to the parliament and become a member of parliament, but life presents you with different opportunities as you work and strive. I wish you all good luck, may fortune be on your side.’

Istanbul Member of Parliament Seda Gören Bölük, who was present at the ceremony, said, ‘Do not lose your hope, your faith, your courage. I wish you success on the path you have taken. It may seem like the end of your educational life to you, but this is where everything begins. You are graduating from school, you are graduating with a profession, but remember, I want to address my message to female students a little more, although I am addressing all students, I am addressing female students a bit more. You can do whatever you want, not just the profession you graduated in, but after you start that profession if it does not satisfy you, if it is not enough for you, you can do any profession, any job you want. You are the children of such a nation.’ conveying good wishes to the students and especially to the female students.

The ceremony continued with Istanbul Esenyurt University Board of Trustees Orhan Özyurt presenting plaques to the participating members of parliament. Subsequently, plaques were presented to students who achieved degrees and awards in sports. Following the award ceremony, students graduating from faculties and vocational schools received their symbolic diplomas from their department instructors. The students threw their caps in the air after taking the university oath and enjoyed pleasant moments with a DJ performance following the cap ceremony.
