SAMSUN (İHA) – Samsun-based rap artist Sagopa Kajmer (Yunus Özyavuz) gave interesting and sincere answers to questions asked on his own social media. Kajmer revealed that he was the first one to receive the offer for ‘Saygı1’ dedicated to Ceza, but he declined it.
The two estranged figures of the rap world, Ceza and Sagopa, came face to face once again. In the ‘Saygı1’ program dedicated to Ceza, numerous artists performed Ceza’s songs, creating a significant comeback. Responding to questions on his own social media account, Sagopa Kajmer stated that he received the initial offer for the said project but turned it down. The host of the program, Oğuzhan Uğur, clarified that Kajmer’s statements did not reflect the truth.
Sagopa Kajmer: ‘The first offer for ‘Saygı1′ came to me, I will accept in 10 years’
Responding to questions directed at him, Sagopa Kajmer said, ‘The first offer for ‘Saygı1′ came to me, but I have other plans for such a night. I might accept it in about 10 years.’
Answering the question, ‘Was the offer for you to be part of ‘Saygı1′ or to perform in the event dedicated to Ceza?’, Kajmer replied, ‘They wanted to organize a night of respect for Sago and I didn’t take a positive stance on that. Later on, there was a request for performance and copyright. I turned down that request for certain reasons.’ When asked, ‘You shouldn’t have said no at first, at least out of courtesy, don’t do this to each other,’ Sagopa replied, ‘The first offers have been coming to me for years in this community. The ones I didn’t accept have always gone to someone else. All organizers and producers know this well. I am telling the truth, there is no need for courtesy in this matter.’
Oğuzhan Uğur: ‘No offer was made to Sagopa Kajmer’
The producer of the program, Oğuzhan Uğur, made the following statement regarding the issue:
‘I really like the work of our brother Yunus (Sagopa Kajmer). I have been listening to him with love for years. I even had a quarrel over the Hedef12 album before his songs started circulating on digital platforms. I am a fan to that extent. However, I read his statement with astonishment. Most probably he was given incorrect information. Because as the format owner, I can say firsthand that neither I nor my team made any offer to him for ‘Saygı1.’ Just three days before the filming night, I sincerely asked him to send a greeting video for Ceza. I wanted the animosity to end. He rejected it, and I never insisted. Moreover, ‘Saygı1′ is not made just for aged veteran masters as he thinks, we are also preparing it for groundbreaking young musicians. Before even airing our first episode, we are receiving broadcast offers from foreign platforms and our stage design is being nominated for awards among all these congratulations and applause. I thought that such a misunderstanding amidst all these achievements might lead to confusion, so I wanted to clarify and tell the truth. I am still a huge fan of his. I believe it is my right to correct the mistake.’
