Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Yeşilyurt Iron and Steel Vocational School (MYO) graduated 138 students in the academic year 2023-2024. The MYO graduation ceremony took place at the Life and Culture Center. Following a moment of silence and the national anthem, the ceremony started with the graduates of the electrical program, electronic technology program, biomedical device technology program, mechatronics program, chemical technology program, automotive technology program, industrial mold making program, arms industry technician program, and food technology program sharing their joy with their families.

“We participated in TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST with our students, and we will continue to participate.”

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Yeşilyurt Iron and Steel MYO, Prof. Dr. Kemal Yıldızlı, stated, “Our Vocational School is one of the 21 schools located in the organized industrial zones in our country. For 12 years, we have been educating and competing in technical personnel in our region and country. Today, we gathered for our young technicians who have successfully graduated from 9 different associate degree programs. Our 138 graduates complete their education by working in companies for a period. This year, for the first time, we transitioned to a 2+2 education model, sending our students to work and engage in practical learning in industrial establishments and SMEs in both semesters. We will strive to increase this number. Starting from the next year, we will document our associate degree education programs with accreditations, and with our vocational training workshops, technical facilities, and academic staff, we will exhibit the performance of an OSB Vocational School that educates, teaches, and produces. We participated in TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST with our students, and we will continue to participate.” First place graduate of the MYO, Muhammed Eymen Kaya, also delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates.

Following the speeches, gifts and certificates of success were given to the students who achieved success. The ceremony ended with the graduates throwing their caps in the air.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Selim Eren, Deputy Director Instructor Yücel Yaşar Büyüklü, Industry and Technology Provincial Director Selahattin Altunsoy, Samsun Central Organized Industrial Zone Director Hakan Tütüncüoğlu, academic staff, and the families of the graduate students.
