Tokat Municipality fights against increasing mosquitoes in summer with drones

Tokat Municipality conducted spraying for mosquitoes and flies using drones for the first time. With the arrival of summer months and increasing temperatures, Tokat Municipality has intensified its fight against mosquitoes and larvae. In addition to the ongoing vehicle-based operations throughout the city, the municipality has adopted a new practice by taking advantage of technology. For the first time in Tokat, spraying was conducted using drones.

“We have started a spraying period with drones for the first time in Tokat”
Tokat Mayor Mehmet Kemal Yazıcıoğlu stated that they have started their operations by utilizing technology. He said, ‘The season has been very dry. As the temperatures have increased, we are conducting a serious amount of work in terms of spraying. We have increased the number of our spraying vehicles. We are trying to benefit from technology to reach all our neighborhoods, streets, and avenues. Now, we have started a spraying period using drones for the first time in Tokat. This has added a plus to our vehicle, machinery, and equipment fleet. With these, our spraying activities along the Yeşilırmak River, in our parks, and in higher areas that we cannot reach continue very quickly. Our citizens have rightful concerns as well. Sometimes they complain about the increase in black flies. However, we have carried out a major struggle against mosquitoes and reduced their numbers. We will continue our work to reduce the numbers of black flies as well. I would like our citizens to know that we utilize all kinds of technology. Finally, we have transitioned to spraying with drones. Hopefully, we will overcome this process quickly. I kindly ask our citizens to be patient a little longer. But I would like our citizens to know that Tokat Municipality is always by their side in every way.’
