The opening of the Psycho-Oncology Polyclinic, which will provide health services within Pamukkale University (PAU) Hospital, was realized.

Psycho-Oncology polyclinic started to serve within Pamukkale University Hospital Psychiatry Hospital. The opening was carried out by PAU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan, PAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Atar, and PAU Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Osman İsmail Özdel.

During the opening ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan stated, “Today we are at the Psychiatry Hospital of the University Hospital. We have opened the Psycho-Oncology Polyclinic here. The Psycho-Oncology Polyclinic will serve our patients with oncological diseases. Oncological cases, which are very common today, are increasing. The need for psychiatric and psychological support for these cases is also increasing accordingly. There are a few places in our country that provide service in this regard. As Pamukkale University Hospitals, we are among the few polyclinics in Turkey that provide services in this field. We believe that it will meet a very serious need. Now, these patients will not feel alone anymore.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Kutluhan emphasized that oncology patients can come here to receive all psychiatric and psychological support, stating, “Of course, there may be some misconceptions today. Our University is very sensitive in this regard. The incoming patient will not be a psychiatric patient, the patient coming here will be an oncological patient. They will receive psychological support in this regard. Therefore, our patients and their relatives can come here with peace of mind and hopefully find healing by receiving great support in their fight against their illnesses. I thank our Faculty of Medicine Dean and Psychiatry Department Lecturers who contributed to the opening of this polyclinic. Wishing it a successful start.”
