Passage, ‘Our elders are our living history, our memory’

Mayor of Yeşilyurt, Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit, visited the home of Hasibe Sarıkaya, who benefits from the services provided within the social responsibility project ‘Baştâcı’ Project of Yeşilyurt Municipality. Mayor of Yeşilyurt, Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit, who maintains communication bonds and heartfelt connections with everyone in Yeşilyurt district, regardless of age, gender, or status, continues to touch the hearts of the elderly with visits and services. Recently, Mayor Geçit visited the home of Hasibe Sarıkaya within the scope of the ‘Baştacı’ Project of Yeşilyurt Municipality, where he not only examined the services provided under the project but also chatted with Hasibe aunt. Emphasizing the importance of a significant project being carried out in the district, Mayor Geçit stated, ‘Our elderly are our living history, and at the same time, our elderly are our memory,’ highlighting that they always benefit from the experiences and wisdom of the elderly. Mayor Geçit said, ‘As a requirement of local governance and compassionate municipalism, we take great care to visit our district residents, especially our elderly, frequently to boost their morale, with the understanding of ‘Keep the people alive for the state to live.’ We listen to their requests and expectations, take notes. During our visits, we spend beautiful moments with the beauty and sincerity in the emotional world of our people. We have a debt of gratitude, above all, to our elderly citizens who contribute value to the country and the nation by dedicating their lives. The memory of society, our centennial elders, living memories, having a healthy, clean, and beautiful life for our elderly citizens is important to us. In the scope of the ‘Baştacı’ project, our teams who clean the homes and provide personal care for our elderly citizens and needy fellow citizens make them feel that they are never alone. Today, we visited the home of Aunt Hasibe, enjoyed her pleasant conversation, and received her blessings. Our elderly are the values and living memories of Yeşilyurt. We will continue to work for the happiness of each of our citizens in our district.
