Businessman Soner Çavuşoğlu announced his candidacy for the presidency of Boluspor, which will hold an extraordinary congress on July 9th. Stating that they have made project and investment plans, Çavuşoğlu said, ‘I also claim that Boluspor will play in the UEFA at the end of 5 years. Let everyone know this.’ Boluspor, a team from Trendyol 1st League, is heading to an extraordinary congress. Prior to the congress, businessman Soner Çavuşoğlu announced his candidacy for the presidency. Meeting with the press before the congress scheduled for Tuesday, July 9th, Çavuşoğlu stated that their investments and projects are ready.
We will establish a productive and income-generating Boluspor,’ said Soner Çavuşoğlu, ‘Last week, we announced our candidacy for the presidency of Boluspor. Our board knows that we will do our best for Boluspor to achieve better positions. How did we start this candidacy? After President Savaş and the current board repeatedly stated that they will not run for the next season and no other candidate emerged, we announced our candidacy for the presidency of Boluspor. As you know, Boluspor is one of Turkey’s and Anatolia’s most important clubs. We will do everything in our power to make this club reach better positions.’
‘We will do our best to establish the future of Boluspor.’ Çavuşoğlu, who emphasized that financial difficulties are among the most challenging problems of Boluspor, said, ‘President Savaş shared this with the Governor, the mayor, and the public many times. We got together with the thought of ‘What can we contribute to Boluspor in this regard?’ We will do our best to establish the future of Boluspor with a team that fights, competes, is young and talented in the next season. Of course, I had private meetings with our governor and our mayor. I met with the mayor a few times. We explained our projects. They got excited and very happy about our projects.’
‘Boluspor should now start production.’ Soner Çavuşoğlu noted that Boluspor should now start production, saying, ‘Today, when looking at football teams, a player’s salary at Boluspor is very high, such as 300, 500, 700 thousand TL. I’m not saying this as an opinion. In the football market, these amounts are normal, but for a Boluspor that does not produce, does not have income, these are very large amounts. We have done all our work regarding this.’

At the end of 5 years, Boluspor will definitely be a club with money in its treasury, production, and revenues. In this 5-year process, the first 3 years will be spent on investments and planning. But at the end of 5 years, I promise this; Boluspor will be in the Super League. We have no small goals. I also claim that at the end of 5 years, Boluspor will play in the UEFA. ‘There is no point in corporatization.’ Çavuşoğlu also stated that he is against the corporatization of Boluspor, saying, ‘The biggest investment that Boluspor should have in recent times and a subject that many managers agree on is corporatization. I am currently not in favor of corporatization. In our administration, corporatization will be considered only after Boluspor’s revenues are in place. When corporatized, Boluspor will only appear as a corporation but will not have any income, there is none anyway. There is no point in corporatization. Today, we sadly see that all efforts are made to corporatize, clear the way and hand over Boluspor. I say this with great regret. Selling Boluspor to an individual for its debt, receivables. I will never allow this to happen. I will do everything in my power to prevent it from being given to someone, not to be given away. This is clear. Boluspor currently has a debt of 200 million TL. Unfortunately, we will have to sell this company to someone to pay off this debt, which means selling Bolu. I hope that anyone who loves Bolu, who loves Boluspor, will oppose this.’
