Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç visited the Karabük Governorship and made statements. Tunç highlighted the historical and natural beauties of Karabük, evaluating the investments made for the development of the city.

Visiting Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz, Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated, ‘Karabük is a very important city with its beautiful districts. Today, we visited our Governor in Karabük. Together with our Members of Parliament and city administrators, we reviewed the ongoing works in Karabük. We also discussed some of the works related to our Ministry. We re-evaluated the works that have been done.’

Tunç mentioned that after the visit, they will visit Karabük Mayor Özkan Çetin. ‘In Karabük, Özkan Çetinkaya was elected as the mayor in the March 31 elections. He has earned the appreciation of the people of Karabük as one of the youngest mayors among the provincial municipalities in Turkey. We will make efforts to support our Mayor in realizing his projects.’

Minister of Justice Tunç announced that a new courthouse will be built in place of the inadequate and old courthouse in Karabük. ‘Our courthouse in Karabük is inadequate and old. We need a new building. Land studies have been completed, and we have started the project works. We signed the project contract on June 13, 2024. We will continue our follow-ups for its inclusion in the 2025 construction investment program.’

He mentioned that the new courthouse will be built in Hürriyet Neighborhood on the old State Railways land with a closed area of 27,567 square meters. Furthermore, he said that a joint project with the Ministry of Interior is being carried out in Eskipazar, and a space of one thousand square meters will be allocated to the courthouse.

Tunç stated that new courts were established in Karabük to expedite judicial processes. ‘We established a family court, a peace penal court, a peace civil court, and a heavy penal court in Karabük. In Safranbolu, we accelerated the judiciary by establishing a court of first instance for civil matters. Moreover, we made the necessary appointments to meet the personnel needs.’

Following the visit to Karabük, Tunç mentioned that they will proceed to Bartın, where they will inaugurate the service building of the Bartın Bar Association and meet with the people of Bartın. ‘In Bartın, we will inaugurate the service building of the Bartın Bar Association and after meeting the people of Bartın, we will return to Ankara.’
