A theoretical and practical ‘Search and Rescue in Earthquakes’ training was provided to the personnel of the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate by the TDV Search and Rescue Team in Denizli.
The theoretical and practical ‘Search and Rescue in Earthquakes’ training was provided to the personnel of the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate by the TDV Denizli Search and Rescue Team. As part of the goal of training 100,000 search and rescue personnel by AFAD Presidency in the 100th year of the Republic, the training program organized by AFAD Provincial Directorate included training for the personnel of the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, explained by Team Leader Hamidullah Ata. Ata stated that the training was provided to approximately 53 directorate personnel between June 24 and 29. In the training conducted for 53 personnel of the youth and sports provincial directorate, topics such as team formation, organization, logistics, transfer, security, incident site management and coordination, behavioral principles of personnel at the incident site, TAMP-AYDES-İKAS information, reporting and feedback, evacuation and types of evacuation, concrete breaking, fortification practices, general structure information, general service information, use of rescue machinery, and INSARAG briefing were covered.
Ata noted that an exam was organized for the participants of the training, stating, ‘Following the theoretical training, practical training, exam, and drill were conducted to conclude. Turkey and our city Denizli should always be prepared for potential earthquakes in the earthquake zone. These trainings are very important. Through training, we can survive and contribute to saving many lives. We will continue our training efforts. We all have responsibilities and duties to raise awareness about earthquakes in society.’
