Mitral valve surgery for leakage in the heart valve

A patient who applied to Gaziantep Private ANKA Hospital with complaints of respiratory distress recovered his health with mitral valve repair performed using a minimally invasive method. A patient living in Hatay Samandağ, Güner Filiz, who had been experiencing respiratory distress for a long time, applied to Gaziantep Private ANKA Hospital due to complaints of respiratory distress, shortness of breath, palpitations, and easy fatigue. After being examined by the Cardiovascular Surgeon Gökhan Gökaslan, leakage in the mitral valve was detected in the tests of Güner Filiz. The decision was made for the patient to undergo surgery, and with a successful operation performed by Prof. Dr. Gökaslan and his team, the patient recovered his health. Four days after the operation, Filiz expressed her joy at being discharged, saying, ‘I have been experiencing respiratory distress for 6 months. My breath was suddenly cut off at nights. I am happy to have recovered my health.’ Providing information about the successful operation, Prof. Dr. Gökaslan stated, ‘We detected leakage in the mitral valve in the tests of our patient who applied to us with complaints of respiratory distress, shortness of breath, palpitations, and easy fatigue. Therefore, we decided to operate on the patient. We performed mitral valve repair using a minimally invasive method on our patient. Our patient, whose health condition is gradually improving, will be able to continue his daily life shortly.’
