During the signing ceremony of the protocol, the rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, stated, ‘Our Faculty of Agriculture and some of our Vocational Schools are working on producing scientific solutions to the problems encountered in the production and marketing process of our apricots, which are the driving force of Malatya’s economy. As a result of our recent studies, we have opened departments in our Faculty that will work on all aspects of agriculture and employed our faculty members. We believe that the departments we have opened will contribute to every aspect of Malatya agriculture. Indeed, we are aware that our professors have started contributing to the work of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, and we believe that we will produce good work together in the future on the topics mentioned within the scope of the signed protocol. I would like to express that as a university, we will make every effort to produce and share the information that our farmers need on issues related to apricots and other agricultural topics mentioned within the protocol. I hope that the protocol will not be just a document but will lead to good work.’
