Burak Yılmaz: “We will not leave just because our transfer window is closed”

Kayserispor Head Coach Burak Yılmaz stated, ‘Just because our transfer window is closed, we won’t leave.’

Kayserispor started its preparations for the 2024-2025 Super League Season with a training session today. The first training session of the season, under the supervision of Head Coach Burak Yılmaz, began with warm-up exercises at the club facilities. Head Coach Burak Yılmaz closely interacted with the players training with the ball.

‘We won’t leave because our transfer window is closed’
During the first practice of the season, Kayserispor Head Coach Burak Yılmaz, in statements to the press members, said they won’t leave due to the closed transfer window. He expressed, ‘We are excited. We have more excitement than last season. Of course, we have our problems. We started with problems again. However, it’s not a big deal. We believe and trust. We believe in ourselves. We trust our players a lot. Kayseri is a big club. As of today, we have started our work. Of course, we want to reach an agreement with Mehdi. Currently, we have a transfer ban. However, just because Kayserispor has a transfer ban, we shouldn’t let Kayserispor be pushed around anywhere. Kayserispor is bigger than everyone. Kayserispor is bigger than individuals. Mehdi is a very valuable player for us, but we cannot let our team be pushed around anywhere. We want an agreement with Mehdi. We definitely want to see Mehdi in our team. Our transfer window is currently closed, but I am hopeful. Just because our transfer window is closed, we won’t leave. We are not the kind of people to leave. If one day we leave, it will be for other reasons, or the club will send us away for other reasons. However, it’s not right to leave this club just because our transfer window is closed. We are not that kind of people,’ he stated.

‘Our fans are always by our side’
Yılmaz pointed out that Kayserispor fans never leave the team alone. He said, ‘Our fans came today too. They wished us well. May God be pleased with all of them. They deserve the best because they are always by our side. Last year, I was really proud of Kayserispor fans. They supported us deservedly in every match. We are here to make them happy. They own this team. With the permission of God, I believe that if we unite, we will overcome these difficult times together. The schedule of our preparation programs has been announced. We will have matches with Samsunspor on July 16, Ankaragücü on the 24th, and Sivasspor. Realistically, we want Kayserispor to continue in this league. The goal is not to avoid relegation. But right now, I can’t sell you dreams. There is currently a transfer process with a closed window. There are 3-4 players in the current squad who have not reached an agreement. That’s why I don’t want to say anything about the goal right now. Because, to be honest, I don’t want to lie or sell dreams,’ he said.

Ramazan Civelek: ‘My goal is to make the best contribution to my team’
Kayserispor player Ramazan Civelek expressed his desire to make the best contribution to the team by saying, ‘We came today to have our first training session. Everyone seems to be in a good mood and eager. I saw everyone missing playing football, being here. This is pleasing. I missed being here and training a lot myself. Hopefully, we will finish this season without accidents, troubles, injuries, and as a successful season. Coming here without a goal is harmful. From my perspective, I aim to be better than the previous year, to give the best performance statistically, to make the best contribution to my team both when I play and when I don’t. I came here with the motivation to achieve that.’
