Under the Integrated and Controlled Production implemented nationwide by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, blue flags are hung in gardens aiming for food safety from field to table, targeting residue-free fresh vegetable and fruit production through controlled pesticide control in line with the mission of providing reliable food.

Among the constantly monitored gardens in Erzincan, blue flags are hung by the Erzincan Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry Plant Production and Plant Health Branch Directorate in gardens that produce in accordance with the Ministry’s integrated and controlled product target.

In Erzincan, a total of 22,000 trees belonging to Erzincan Bir-Tek Electricity Construction Agriculture Livestock Plastic Import Export Industry and Trade Limited Company, mainly producing apples with dwarf and semi-dwarf seedlings on 125 decares of land, have been awarded the Blue Flag by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Erzincan Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Murat Şahin, who conducted examinations in the company’s garden, met with the Company Manager Erdal Akartepe and received information about the production in the garden. Thanking the company manager Erdal Akartepe for their production in accordance with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s integrated and controlled production practice aimed at ensuring food safety, Provincial Director Murat Şahin said, ‘Integrated and Controlled Production is a method of fighting aimed at residue-free fresh vegetable and fruit production with controlled pesticide control in line with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s mission of providing reliable food from field to table. It is to enable our producers to manage their combat activities in their own fields, vineyards, gardens, and greenhouses by making production in line with integrated combat principles and controlling pesticide use. In addition, it aims to preserve the natural balance and obtain clean and high-quality products without pesticide residues. In this regard, surveillance studies within the scope of integrated and controlled product management on 400 decares of apple orchards belonging to 40 farmers in our province are ongoing, and blue flags sent by our Ministry are hung in the gardens of these farmers. Integrated and Controlled Production activities continue. Today, we are in one of our exemplary gardens in Erzincan. We thank them for their contributions to agricultural production.’
