The Protocol for the 2nd Term of the Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon has been signed

The Protocol of the 2nd Term of Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon was signed.
Middle Anatolia Development Agency, Republic Technopark, Sivas Science and Technology University Technology Transfer Office, and Sivas Business Development Center (İŞGEM) signed the Cooperation Protocol for the “Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon” II. Term. The protocol was signed by Sivas Governor Dr. Yılmaz Şimşek, Sivas Cumhuriyet University Rector Prof. Dr. Alim Yıldız, Sivas Science and Technology University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kul, and ORAN Development Agency Secretary General İbrahim Ethem Şahin. The signing ceremony, attended by Sivas Mayor Dr. Adem Uzun, Sivas Provincial Assembly President Mehmet Şarkışla, Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Mutlu Türkoğlu, and relevant institution managers, ended after presenting opinions on the marathon.

The activities of the 1st Term of Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon, organized in cooperation with Middle Anatolia Development Agency, Republic Technopark, and Sivas İŞGEM, continued throughout 2022-2023. Within the scope of the 1st Term activities, a total of 78 hours of entrepreneurship and investment-related trainings were provided by 13 different trainers on 15 different days, bringing young entrepreneurs together. Strengthened by the participation of young entrepreneurs, mini competitions were organized in 4 different categories, and awards were given. Following the evaluation by the First Evaluation Board, 7 entrepreneurial teams were selected to receive a prototype production support of 15,000 TL each, along with assigning 2 mentors in their field of expertise. The entrepreneurs conducted a 4-month prototype preparation process. At the Start in Sivas Entrepreneurship Summit Final Program, the entrepreneurs who produced their prototypes competed through a demo day event, and an event where the products produced by the entrepreneurs were exhibited and a panel on the importance of entrepreneurship in regional development were held. Following the panel, the best 3 entrepreneurs were determined in the demo day event, and they were awarded 25,000 TL, 20,000 TL, and 15,000 TL respectively.

The 2nd Term of Start in Sivas Entrepreneur Support Marathon officially began with the signed protocol. The total support amount to be provided by the Middle Anatolia Development Agency was increased to 500,000 TL. The deadline for applications for the marathon is October 30, 2024, and the events and award stages within the marathon will continue throughout the second half of the year. The race is starting to develop Sivas’ entrepreneurship ecosystem, increase the number of high-tech entrepreneurs, and bring entrepreneurs to national-international incubation programs.
