In his opening speech at the meeting, Deputy Governor Yusuf İzci evaluated the works carried out in Erzincan during this summer season, mentioning agriculture, greenhouse farming, Erzincan Tulum Cheese, and Erzincan Promotion Days. Deputy Governor / Secretary General of the Special Provincial Administration Mehmet Emre Canpolat also provided information about the works carried out at Ergan Mountain, Girlevik Waterfall, and other locations within the Special Provincial Administration. Erzincan Youth and Sports Provincial Director Volkan Burak Mumcu stated that a busy program schedule will be followed this year in off-road, rafting, and other outdoor sports. Erzincan Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Oğuzhan Kılıç shared information about the planned cultural and artistic programs. “Statement from Secretary General Canpolat of the Special Provincial Administration” Deputy Governor / Secretary General of the Special Provincial Administration Mehmet Emre Canpolat also made a statement regarding an incident that occurred yesterday at Ergan Mountain during the meeting. Canpolat stated: “The Ergan Ski Center in our province has been allocated to the Special Provincial Administration as the sole authorized entity by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Within this scope, it has been determined that the lessee, who is authorized to build a tourism facility at the Ergan Ski Center and on public parcels adjacent to it, has encroached upon neighboring parcels, roads, and other areas, despite repeated warnings from the administration, and has not given up the occupation. A survey commission consisting of expert technical personnel from the Cadastre Provincial Directorate, Erzincan Municipality, and the Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change conducted an on-site inspection to identify the encroached areas and marked these areas for the lessee to evacuate. The rectification works planned to be carried out by our teams on July 1, 2024, in the encroached areas were obstructed by the lessee, who kept the machinery idle on site for hours, preventing the rectification process. When the rectification work with the machinery began in the encroached areas, the lessee came to the area, obstructed the work, insulted the personnel on site, and attempted to film with a mobile phone. The lessee threw himself on the ground to prevent the public officials from carrying out their duties, acted disruptively, made false accusations, and insulted the personnel present. Subsequently, after your teams documented the incident, they left the area. No physical intervention was made against the lessee by the authorities. A criminal complaint has been filed against the lessee for obstructing the public officials in the performance of their duties, using force and violence, making false accusations, and insulting them.” The meeting continued behind closed doors afterwards.
