“We are putting our hands under the stone”
Mayor of Odunpazarı, Kazım Kurt, in his statement regarding the matter, drew attention to the serious economic crisis Turkey is facing. Mayor Kurt emphasized that the education expenses, along with these economic conditions, put parents in a difficult situation. Stating that they advocate for education to be equal, free, and scientific, Mayor Kurt said, “We are putting our hands under the stone to support parents who are economically struggling, to provide a scientific, quality, and secular education opportunity for our youth and children. Every year we open these workshops, ensuring that hundreds of our children benefit from these workshops. As Odunpazarı Municipality, we stand by our parents and students.”

Mayor Kurt, in his speech, pointed out that there is still no high school in Emek and 71 Evler neighborhoods, which are the largest neighborhoods in Eskişehir, saying, “With a population larger than many districts in our country, and also large in terms of area, Emek and 71 Evler neighborhoods still lack a high school. Once again, I invite the authorities to take the necessary steps to build a high school in these neighborhoods.”
