Yildirim Mayor Oktay Yilmaz visited the athletes training at Naim Süleymanoğlu Sports Complex, which is the iconic face of Sports City Yildirim. Implementing important projects for the development of youth and keeping them away from bad habits, Yildirim Municipality has started the 1st term of Summer Sports School. Yildirim Municipality initiated the summer sports schools in the district to encourage children and youth to engage in sports, aiming to contribute both to its infrastructure and to bring new stars to Turkish sports. In courses where basic sports training is provided in 17 branches, children have the opportunity to learn swimming, basketball, volleyball, football, gymnastics, chess, kickboxing, mini gymnastics, taekwondo, karate, wrestling, tennis, boxing, badminton, and table tennis from expert trainers at sports facilities in different parts of the district. This term, a total of 50,000 young people are targeted to be introduced to sports through the Summer Sports Schools. Mayor Oktay Yilmaz emphasized that through the sports schools, a good infrastructure is provided, stating that children learn discipline, self-confidence, and team spirit. Pointing out that young people doing sports is the best medal for them, Yilmaz said, ‘As Yildirim Municipality, we continue our sports services to spread sports to the grassroots and ensure that our youth and children have a healthy and dynamic life. We are discovering the future champions of Yildirim and encouraging our children to participate in sports through our summer sports schools. Our courses are conducted in clean, organized, and hygienic environments under the supervision of experienced instructors in the field. I invite all our children to our summer sports schools.’
