The purchase, sale, use, and possession of explosives and flammable materials such as fireworks, sky lanterns, firecrackers, torpedoes, poppers, pistol caps, signal flares, and sky lanterns without complying with the regulations and without permission have been prohibited in Mugla. The written statement issued by the Mugla Governorate emphasized the sensitivity of the province, which is 70% covered with forests, to forest fires, highlighting the importance of measures in preventing fires. With the increasing risk and sensitivity to fires during the summer months, the need for additional measures has arisen. Unauthorized and non-compliant use of fireworks, sky lanterns, torpedoes, and other pyrotechnic materials during events such as engagements, weddings, farewells, official and national holidays, various openings, celebrations, and special occasions poses a threat to our forests and the safety of life and property of our citizens. The statement by the Governorate stated that in order to protect the lives and properties of citizens and forests, the purchase, sale, use, and possession of pyrotechnic materials (fireworks, sky lanterns, firecrackers, torpedoes, poppers, pistol caps, signal flares, sky lanterns, and all kinds of poppers) that could cause fires are prohibited without complying with the regulations and without permission. In line with the general order issued by the Governorate, all authorized, responsible, and relevant public officials, including general and special law enforcement units, were instructed to carry out necessary inspections and monitoring. Violators of the ban will face legal and administrative actions in accordance with the relevant articles of the Administrative Offenses Law.
