Warning on the first driving experience: ‘One cannot become a teacher from a spouse or a father’

Some drivers learn to drive before getting a driver’s license and receive driving training from their spouse, father, and sibling after obtaining the license, while experts point out that trainings taken under pressure are dangerous in terms of life and property safety. Many drivers’ first and last driving instructors in traffic are generally their father, spouse, and sibling. In steering training received from family members, nerves are usually strained first and the driver can partially receive training. Drivers who say that the fault-finding feature that comes with emotional attachment to their father and spouse constantly makes them make mistakes recommend expert training to other drivers.
After receiving the driver’s license, Rümeysa Naz, who explained that she did not have the confidence to go into traffic on her own and then received steering training, stated that she decided that her father was not a suitable instructor. She emphasized the importance of taking private lessons from knowledgeable instructors to feel confident and drive professionally and safely.
Ayşe Demirel, who wanted to go back into traffic with her husband after getting her driver’s license but failed, stated that she did not attempt to drive with him again due to his impatience. She expressed the necessity of taking lessons from experienced and technically knowledgeable instructors at driving schools to be more conscious and patient compared to driving with a spouse.
Fenise Nisa Çelepci, who stated that she failed to receive the steering lessons she wanted from her father, emphasized the importance of attending a driving school and receiving training from professional instructors. She warned against sitting behind the wheel with a family member, as it would cause more stress.
Addressing drivers who want to take advanced driving reinforcement training, Advanced Driving Expert Ramazan Ceylan emphasized the importance of receiving practical training from expert instructors rather than family members to avoid learning incorrect practices that may lead to traffic accidents. He highlighted the danger in terms of life and property safety and emphasized the significance of learning to drive properly and practicing steering lessons in accordance with the rules to prevent accidents.
