Emre Sakçı, who became the European champion in the 50-meter breaststroke at the European Swimming Championships, will set an example for students in swimming courses to be held in Selçuk.

Emre Sakçı, a student and business partner of Fenerbahçe and National Team coaches Turker Oktay and Bahar Oktay, who operate the Selçuk Swimming Pool, became the European champion in the 50-meter breaststroke at the European Swimming Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia, with a time of 26.92.

“New Emre Sakçıs will emerge”
The coaches of Emre Sakçı, who made a breakthrough in Turkish swimming history, Turker Oktay and Bahar Oktay, expressed their happiness for this success. Oktay stated that Emre’s successes will continue and said, “After the swimming courses starting at the Swimming Pool on Monday, June 24, selections will be made from the successful athlete candidates, and training will be provided in the Indoor Swimming Pool until January, where new Emre Sakçıs will also emerge from Selçuk.”

Successful National Athlete Emre Sakçı will meet future champion candidates at the Selçuk Swimming Pool on the signing day upon his return to Turkey.

Selçuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel congratulated the sharing of National Swimmer Emre Sakçı winning a gold medal at the Water Sports European Championships in Serbia through her social media accounts.

With the protocol signed between Selçuk Municipality and Olympic Performance Sports Club Association, swimming lessons given by Fenerbahçe and National Team coaches Turker Oktay and Bahar Oktay last summer will resume on Monday, June 24.
